Hiking & Trekking in Japan

Numerous Japanese are keen on hiking and it is not rare to see the most famous hiking sites, accessible from the big agglomerations, very crowded during the weekends and public holidays.

Japanese people dress and equip themselves according to their hiking activities but sometimes can do a little too much: most of the hiking paths are very well organized, and all these hiking gears may seem not so adapted to such easy hikes. Most of children and elderly people can hike those without difficulties.

Moreover, lots of these "nature trips" from big cities are provided with electrical systems allowing people to cheat (cable cars), or to never feel completely lost (vending machines, restaurants…).

To avoid the crowd and find a more realistic nature, it is possible to escape of these famous spots by going deeper in the Japanese countryside, looking for always more quiet and magical places.
