From September 18, 2025 to October 18, 2025
Hello everybody
My name is Sam and this fall I will visit Japan for the first time! I like solo-travelling and I'm not looking for a travel-buddy in its classical sense, but I would love to meet people for a meal, a drink or a sightseeing-trip. Sharing accomodation is not part of the plan, but could be discussed once we met or spoke at least.
A little bit about myself: I'm 30 years old, Swiss and a medical-student finishing my studies this fall (this trip is a way of rewarding myself ;-)). I speak Swissgerman/German/English/some French and sadly no Japanese (I hope I'll find the time to learn some common phrases).
Since it's my first visit, I will be doing some touristy stuff, but I love exploring off-the-beaten-path things as well, so if you have an idea I'm open to it! I will be exploring the Japanese kitchen, do some sightseeing, some onsen-stuff, maybe some hiking, the cycling-path in between islands (shimanami kaido) - so it will be a mix of relaxed indoor and outdoor activities. I'd also love to take part in some workshops and visit some jazz-bars! Clubbing is not planned yet but hey, you never know hahah...
This is my rough itinerary:
Arrival in Tokyo (Shinjuku) and surrounding region: 18.09. - 23.09. (including Fujisawa)
Nikko: 23.09. - 25.09.
Gunma: 25.09. - 27.09.
Kanazawa: 27.09. - 01.10.
Kyoto: 01.10. - 04.10.
Osaka: 04.10. - 06.10.
Shikoku by car: 06.10. - 16.10. (Tokushima - Takamatsu - Iya-Valley - Kochi - Matsuyama - Izu (maybe) - Imabari/Onomichi with the Shimanami kaido)
back to Tokyo (Ginza) and departure: 16.10. - 18.10.
While I have booked most of my accomodation, I'm still open to change some of it on a shorter notice. My budget is alright but definitely has its limits.
So: if our paths cross, hit me up and we'll have some Ramen together :-)
