The Royal Park Hotel Maihama Resort Tokyo-Bay (Review)
The New Family Hotel Near Disney Resort
The Royal Park Hotel Maihama Resort Tokyo-Bay is a 4-stars hotel in Urayasu city, Chiba prefecture, in the south-east of Tokyo in Japan. Since February 2026, this new address makes a comfortable and friendly base, ideal for families or groups visiting Tokyo DisneySea and Disneyland.
The Royal Park Hotel 🏨 Maihama Resort Tokyo-Bay was inaugurated on February 13, 2026 and is a new 4-stars hotel with 750 rooms, located a stone’s throw away from Tokyo DisneySea and Tokyo Disneyland, both attraction parks that also celebrate their 25th anniversary this same year. It is the 1rst hotel of the Royal Park brand to open in Chiba prefecture, more precisely in Urayasu on the shore of Tokyo Bay.
Designed to accommodate families and groups during their visit to Tokyo Disney Resort, the hotel is characterized by wide spaces inciting relaxation and escapism. The biggest rooms can host from 4 to 6 guests in about 50m². They are all equipped with:
- A comfortable Western-style bedding;
- A spacious private bathroom (with a bath tub or a big multi-nozzle shower); and,
- A lounge area with a table and chairs (and a micro-wave oven and a mini-fridge).
Family rooms have a double shower for an easier use of the bathroom 🛁.

A travel-themed decoration
Traveling is the common theme of the rooms, exploring oceans and continents with a decoration that is both colorful and immersive, and also divided in various sub-themes, such as in:
- Standard rooms are painted either in a characteristic Greek blue, a green emerald color reminding of South-east Asia, jasmine culture of India or with sunflowers and cacti of Mexico;
- The more sophisticated rooms can be themed on the marine world, African safari or Arabic culture.
The lobby of the Royal Park Hotel Maihama Resort Tokyo-Bay is of an impressive size; it has a nice library area, pleasant for a break, as well as a great stairway built in recycled wood. Water fountains are also available in an ecological approach to avoid the use of plastic water bottles.
Depending on the weather conditions and the location inside the hotel, it is possible to have a glimpse on Disney Sea’s attractions, the bridges of Tokyo Bay and even the silhouette of Mount Fuji 🗻 in the background on the luckiest days.

An excellent international cuisine
The hotel’s restaurant The Compass serves breakfast every morning in a lavish international cuisine buffet. There is a large choice of sweet or savory dishes, thoughtfully displayed. We recommend their mouth-watering menu that constitute the ideal hearty meal before spending a day in Disney.
Note that despite its 400 seats, the restaurant can sometimes feel very crowded. Therefore, we recommend using the virtual queuing line for breakfast, available from the TV screen of the room and with a QR code to scan with your smartphone 📱. It indicates the most convenient hour to go to the restaurant according to your room number. The same process applies to the washing machines at the 2F floor, whose occupancy is also displayed in real time.

At the doorstep of Tokyo Bay
The hotel is connected to Maihama JR station by a free shuttle bus. It is also of an easy access by taxi or by car 🚙, thanks to a nearly 400 slots parking available. The free shuttle also serves Tokyo Disney Sea and Disneyland that are located a few minutes away from the hotel.
The Royal Park Hotel Maihama Resort Tokyo-Bay has an exotic and family-friendly ambiance oriented towards entertainment, like a classical resort complex, but with the Disney Parks being the attractions.
The surroundings of Urayasu are also worth a longer stay, such as:
- Kasai Rinkai Park, home to a Ferris wheel and a bird sanctuary; and,
- Katsushika ward and its tradition Shibamata neighborhood.
The hotel can also be used as a base to visit the Boso peninsula, located on the other side of Tokyo Bay and loved by the locals for its larges beaches 🏖 and its monumental Buddha statue in Nokogiriyama.
